Openresty HANA Connectivity

Hi,

I need to connect to HANA DB. Since there are no drivers explicitly for HANA connectivity, I was thinking of trying the ODBC route. There are two options here:

1. There is an odbc library: https://github.com/moteus/lua-odbc

2. Also LuaSQL provides an odbc driver http://keplerproject.github.io/luasql/doc/us/manual.html#drivers

Has anyone used any of these two libs for odbc connectivity? any recommendations/pitfalls?

As far as I can see, both of these libraries will block nginx's event
loop and ruin the C10K capability.

I suggest you implement the wire protocol atop ngx_lua's nonblocking
cosocket API directly in Lua, in the same spirit of lua-resty-mysql
(for MySQL) and pgmoon (for PostgreSQL), for example.

Thanks for the suggestions Agentzh. Will check out the lua-resty-mysql implementation. I can't find the SAP HANA wire protocol specification anywhere though.

Just an update. HANA provides http connectivity also. So, we ended up using the non blocking:

ngx.socket.tcp

If possible, please make it a library and publish it, say in GitHub (a three clause BSD license would be nice), so that others can benefit from it as well.
