Hi, how long is it usually before openresty adopts new nginx versions? I'm really in need of the "proxy_cache_convert_head" directive that was added to 1.9.7 this month, and want to know if I should wait for openresty, or attempt to compile nginx on my own with the modules I need. Thanks!

Yes, OpenResty follows new NGINX mainline releases,  just with some
delay (for testing and etc). See

The next OpenResty version will be 1.9.7.1, according to the plan.
