Trying to detect and verify search engine crawlers in the log_by_lua* state by using dns resolver.

I'm writing a WAF trying to verify the search engine crawlers is fake or not in the log_by_lua* state. But the "upd" api seem to be disabled in log_by_lua*. It's there any way to work around it?

For update information. Using the ngx.timer.at can register a callback func work like the setInterval in js where the socket api is avilable.
